Privacy Policy for TimeGuide
Last Updated: March 21st, 2026
Thank you for using TimeGuide. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Our philosophy is simple: your data is yours. TimeGuide is designed as a private and secure place for your plans, with no backend servers, no user accounts, and no tracking.
What We Collect (and What We Don't)
TimeGuide is built to respect your privacy from the ground up. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information.
Tasks and Notes You Create
Any tasks, notes, titles, or other content you create are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework, or mirrored to your private iCloud account to enable sync between devices.
- This data never leaves your device or private iCloud container.
Calendar Access
- Permission: The app will ask for your consent before accessing your calendar. You can grant or revoke access anytime in iOS Settings.
- Usage: Calendar events are read and displayed for your convenience. If you create or edit an event in TimeGuide, the app communicates directly with Apple's Calendar service on your device.
- Storage: We do not copy or store your calendar events on any servers. Events remain under the privacy policy of your calendar provider (Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc.).
Purchases
- Payments are processed securely through Apple's App Store.
- We do not see or store your payment details (such as your name or card information).
- We only receive an anonymous confirmation from Apple that your purchase was successful.
Free Trial
- To manage the 7-day free trial, the trial's start date is stored privately in your iCloud account.
- This data is anonymous, only accessible to you via your Apple ID, and never shared with us.
Crash Reports
- If you opt into sharing crash data with Apple, Apple may send us anonymous reports. These reports do not contain any personally identifying information.
What We Never Collect
We do not collect or share:
- Your name, email address, or contact info
- Location data
- Usage analytics
- Task or calendar data for advertising or profiling
How We Use Your Information
Since we don't collect personal data, we don't use it for advertising or tracking. The app only uses your data locally to:
- Display your tasks and events
- Send you reminder notifications (which are generated locally on your device)
Your Rights and Data Retention
- Access and Deletion: Because your data never leaves your device, there is nothing for us to provide or delete. You have full control. Deleting the app also deletes its data from your device.
- Retention: Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed.
Third-Party Services
TimeGuide relies on Apple services for key features:
- EventKit (calendar access and editing, with your permission)
- StoreKit (in-app purchases)
- iCloud (sync across devices and for syncing your trial status anonymously)
If you connect TimeGuide to other calendars (e.g., Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook), your use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. TimeGuide does not include features that would collect such information. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly address the issue.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Updates will always be posted here, and significant changes may also be communicated through the app.
